Monthly Milestones

Annabelle is 17 Months today! Here are somethings she did in her 16th month!

This month would be marked by her increasing vocabulary and understanding. She is very talkative...hmmmm....where oh where can she get that from?

1. New Signs: up, Grandma, Grandpa

2. New Words: up, nice, fries, juice, hello, black, red, big, bird, tweet-tweet, hide (we started playing Hide and Go Seek)

3. New Foods: M & Ms, Chocolate cake, pancakes, chicken nuggets

4. First skinned knee on Monday, May 5th...she tripped over a crack in the sidewalk. She got right back up and only shed a few tears!

5. This one is a bit funny...she's become very private when it is time to do #2. I think we might be ready to potty train soon.

6. She can go down steps the right way if she is holding onto a railing. We don't have one at the house, but there is one in the church parking lot that she practices with on our walks.

7. She put her first two words together! We were at Wal-mart picking out a new toothbursh and I held up Big Bird and Elmo to see which one she wanted and she said, "BIG BIRD!" I didn't even know she knew who Big Bird was, but we figured she must watch him at daycare because it was quite obvious she knew him!

8. She is continuing to put more words together. The other day she said, "More Ma". It is hard to resist when she says that...but it wasn't food she wanted more of, it was tickles!

9. She has started to really play. For instance, if Daddy is chasing her, she will then turn around and chase him. Up until this month she just wanted to be chased.

10. She is showing interest in household chores. She likes to try and flush the toilet, throw away things in the trash and here she is wanting to put on the dish gloves to wash dishes!

Here she is just talking away....

Parent Putt-Putt

The month of May in Youth Group we've been studying the family. So to end our month of study we had a Parent/Teen Putt-Putt! We had about 50 people total and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. Prizes were awarded to the top 3 families and even for the worst family score. Also, top individals and hole in one winners got prizes. You wouldn't believe how many people got a hole in one!

Annabelle even got into the action when Miss Deb tried to teach her to putt! You'll have to watch the montage I created to see that video!

Making Memorial Memories

We spent Memorial Day at Uncle Dan and Aunt Donna's. They always have quite the crowd. There was great food and fellowship. Here are some pics of our day. This is their new puppy, Dutchess Madeline, they just got her yesterday. She is a wired hair pointy griffin just like their other dog, Heidi.

This is Annabelle going out and in the doggy door! She had fun with this!

It was so windy out today. But that didn't keep us from being outside. Annabelle just loves to roam around and as you can see there is plenty of room for her to do so.

This is Paige, she was a huge help with Annabelle today. She was such a sweet young lady and am so thankful we got to know her today.

Pursuing Papa

I know I am stretching it here with the title (she doesn't call Josh Papa)...but I have to try and stay consistent! Here Annabelle is chasing after Josh, and then she turns the table on him!

Simple Saturday

We are just at home relaxing today, but here are some things Annabelle has been enjoying lately. She has been into animals and the sounds they make so Granny got her this HUGE book that seems to have every animal you can imagine in it! She loves looking through it!

Her new thing is to "play" Connect 4. She obviously doesn't know how to play, but as you can see from the pic she at least knows how to put the colors together!

Friday Field Fun in Fifth Grade

Yesterday was Field Day at Elm Street School! This is the school I will be teaching at next year. I have been in 5th grade most of the week with a class that I've subbed for quite a bit this year. It was a lot of fun supporting them yesterday!

I know, I know I got carried away with the alliteration in my title...I couldn't resist!!

Here I am with some of the girls!

Darling Daddy

Annabelle has such a special relationship with her Daddy! She just adores him, as you will see from these clips.

In this video watch her left hand on Josh's
goatee. She does this a lot to him.

Having fun with Daddy!

Giving Daddy kisses
(notice the goatee rub at the end of the first one!)

Pretty Princess Pillow

Annabelle has taken an interest in pillows lately, so I thought it was time we went and got her one. Tonight was Mommy and Annabelle night. I picked her up from daycare and we went shopping for her pillow. We found a Princess Pillow and a Princess Pillowcase! She exclaimed, "Oooohhhh, Pleeease, Please!" and I knew we had the right one! Then tonight we went to a Mother/Daughter Tea at church!

This is the actual pillow...see the princesses on it?At the Mother/Daughter TeaAfter the tea, sleeping like an
angel on her favorite princess!
You can't see it but she has on a Princess Nightgown!
