Monthly Milestones

Annabelle is 19 Months today! Here are some things she did in her 18th month!
This month would be marked by her ability to put words together!

1. New Words: boo-boo, boat, sit, go, Daddy, peace, no-way, Mikey, Chris, Beve (aka Steve), Britt, Kelly, magnet, stuck, beast (for Beauty and the Beast), cheese (for the camera), fish, trash, blanky (for her blanket), watch, apple, ready, yes, thank you, you're welcome

She climbed up into the drawer and then was saying, "Stuck, stuck"

2. New Signs: Water, socks, potty

3. She found her shadow. One night at the lake as we were going to bed, the light from the alarm clock casted a shadow of Annabelle on the wall. She pointed to it and then started moving back and forth and would laugh when it would move!

4. July 8th, she went stinky's on the potty! July 21st she did tinkles on the potty! We are officially potty training!

5. She can put her crocs on all by herself. She also tries to put her pants/shorts on. While sitting she can get both legs in but she can't stand up and pull them up.

6. She is putting words together, for instance she picked up the phone and said, "Hi, Daddy" and she says, "No way". Just today she said, "Hey guys, Look!" Josh and I couldn't believe it!

7. She likes to play with other kids now. Before she was content playing by herself, but now she is interacting with others.

8. She has a fabulous memory. When she sees Wal-mart she says, "cookie" because they always give her a cookie for free at the bakery and when she sees the Starbucks logo she says two things, "bucks" and "Mmmmm". She likes to drink my Caramel Light Frappuccino.

9. Her favorite toys this month have to be her babies and her strollers. She is such a girl! She loves taking care of her babies and taking them for walks.

10. She loves walking up and DOWN the steps like a big girl. Although she needs at least one of Mommy's or Daddy's fingers still. We were at a friend's house who had railings on their steps and she came all the way down while holding onto the railing. Needless to say, I thought I was going to have a heart attack and had my hands out just in case she fell.

11. She USED to love to climb up Daddy! She always made sure I was watching too!
WARNING: Don't try this at home! This video was taken on July 24th. However, we just spent 2 1/2 hours in the ER this afternoon (July 31st) because her elbow came out of the joint doing this! She is fine now, they had to pop her elbow back in twice before it set.

A Summer Sunday

This summer we've made a lot of improvements to the outside of our house. Josh painted the awning in front, just to the right and left of the house Josh bricked in some rocks and planted some bushes. We've added some Adirondack chairs that we have been wanting for a while. They are so comfy! We enjoy sitting outside at night when the bugs aren't biting. Lastly, a generous lady from our church gave us the three potted plants you see. This is Corey. He is one of our teens and comes over quite frequently on Sundays to spend the afternoon with us. Annabelle loves when he plays ball with her.
Corey and Annabelle giving Five!
One of Annabelle's favorite things to do is to walk over to the church and see the owl. At least once a day she asks to go see the owl, so we spend a lot of time outside walking. The other day she asked just as we were about to leave for the store, so we drove by, opened the car door and let her say good-bye to the owl! Spoiled I know!

Crepes a Go Go

(click on the picture to enlarge it)

In Maryland there is every possible place imaginable to eat. In my parents town alone you could seriously eat out every night for a year and NEVER eat at the same place. One of my mom's favorite finds is called Crepes-A-Go-Go. As you can guess they only make CREPES. When Josh and I went to Paris we had crepes and only had a couple of choices. But to make a booming business you've got to have lots of choices and the choices there are endless. Thanks for taking us there! It was delicious!

Kovlak Kin

We were blessed this past week to go to Maryland while Josh was away on a Ministry Trip with our teens. The organization that Josh went with wouldn't allow us to bring Annabelle. So my parents flew Annabelle and me out to see them. We had such a great time and I was able to see my Grandma. I hadn't seen my Gram in a year! Unfortunately, she suffers from alzheimer's disease, but it was still a blessed time. Her long term memory is still in tact, but the short term isn't too great. She remembered things like I was a teacher and had blond hair when I was little. But she struggled to remember who Annabelle was and her name. One thing she kept saying was "that kid is gorgeous!" You'll have to check out the videos in the smilebox. They are pretty funny!

Stolen Slide Show!

I had to steal this slide show off of my Mom's blog. It is so good!! It really does a nice job of putting our OBX pictures to music! Thanks Mom for taking the time to make these memories for us all to enjoy for years and years to come! I love you and am thankful for your creativity!

Indian Lake

Josh's family vacation with the Mosher side is to Indian Lake, NY, located in the Adirondack Mountains. To show you the family history let me tell you how long they've been going there. Let's start with the youngest and progress...Annabelle's 2nd year, my 4th year, Josh's 27th year, his parents 35th year, and if his grandmother went it would have been about her 60th year! They even honeymooned there! Grandma's dad, Josh's Great-grandpa, started hunting there in the 30s...so as you can see there is a lot of tradition.

For many of those years the Mosher family has stayed at Smith's Cottages. Smith's has been able to keep up with the ever increasing size of the Mosher family. Not only are there a lot of people but we do a lot! We hike, climb mountains, go out on the boat, water ski, jet ski, tube, and relax in and around the water. This year we did a lot together as a family. We had a clam/rib bake, fish fry (where the young boys caught most of the fish), Ice cream night, hobo dinner, and a potluck (leftovers).

One of my favorite things to do is girls day! All the girls go to The Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, an old fashion soda fountain since 1893, in Chestertown, NY. I can honestly say I get the best tuna melt I have ever had there every year! In the past the girls have then gone pottery shopping, but this year a few of us went to Lake George and did some outlet shopping.

The Wilson Girls

Here is a video of our times with the Wilson Family.

Microsoft Movie Maker

Josh found this movie maker on our computer last night and within an hour had created this movie. I still had to upload it to YouTube because Blogger takes forever uploading videos, but as you will see it is pretty cool. I actually started crying in the middle and cried until it ended. It is amazing how our little girl has changed so much!

Breaking the Boredom

I don't know about any of you other Moms of toddlers but sometimes I feel like such a boring Mom. Huggies sent me an email this week with a link to their activity site. You can search for activities that are in your baby's age range and even activities to develop their minds and bodies.
We tried this activity off of the website it is called Scratch and Sniff Necklaces. I've been thinking about turning them into magnets instead of necklaces.
Pouring the drink powder onto our fruit shapes.

Can you guess what fruits me made? LOL Our finished products

Shaking and Sharing

Last night before dinner Josh was learning a new song on his guitar when Annabelle started dancing. We were cracking up because she reminded us of Elaine from Seinfeld dancing!

After dinner she had some cookies for dessert. We have been working on sharing. This kid is smart! Annabelle wants to share with Daddy, but doesn't want to give him the best cookies...check it out!

Poopy on the Potty

YES that is right, today Annabelle went poopy on the potty. We haven't been all out potty training, but we've been talking about it, practicing sitting on it, and reading books about it. Yesterday we tried and I was too late. But today I saw her face start and we rushed to the bathroom. She sat down and within seconds had gone! I will spare you the video b/c it is a lot of me screaming and cheering, and you probably don't want to see the end product. But here is a picture of her afterwards sitting on her potty. As a treat she had a YOGO Rollup, you can probably see it all over her face if you click on the picture to see it big. We put another one by the table near the potty for the next time she goes!

Best Bed and Breakfast

Well since we went up to visit Grandma and Grandpa we had to stay somewhere. We stayed at the Foxbriar Bed and Breakfast in Newfield, New York. This just so happens to be owned by Josh's Aunt Sue and Uncle Dean, and JUST so happens to be located right next door to Grandma and Grandpa....talk about convenient! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend if you are in the Ithaca area to check them out. Here is a write up from visitithaca.com

Featuring a suite for two with private bath and a private entrance.
Enjoy the solitude of a secluded patio, our cozy greatroom, a
country cabin breakfast, and friendly Finger Lakes hospitality.

Great Grandpa Get Well

We left for the Lake a day early so we could go see Josh's Grandpa Mosher. About 16 years ago he had open heart sugery, and just two weeks ago they had to go into the vein they used from his leg, that is now in his heart and remove some plaque. There were a few complications afterwards, in fact after our visit, but we are praising the Lord that he is now back home and on the road to recovery.

We also went over to Matt and Danielle's house, Josh's cousin. They live in walking distance to Grandpa and Grandma. They have 4 kids. The older two went up to the Lake with their grandparents and the twins stayed home with Matt and Danielle. It was a blessing they had stayed home this year, because they were there to take care of and care for Grandpa when he relapsed and had to go back to the hopsital.
