Childhood Compassion

Tonight I was at McDonald's with my friend, Jordan, who is also a fellow blogger. While there something Annabelle did caught both of our eyes.

A mother set her 8 month old down in the play area. I am guessing she was around 8 months old because she was sitting up, but didn't really crawl. Annabelle immediately started watching this baby. As she watched she moved closer and closer. First, when the baby was down to crawl Annabelle laid down on her belly like her. Then while the baby was sitting she sat across from her. Eventually, she sat down right next to her and was talking to her. We were too far away to hear but the next thing we knew she was getting up. She came over to the table, grabbed her teddy bear (which was her McDonald's happy meal toy), and went over and gave it to the little girl. The little girl was so happy and so was Annabelle. It was so cute because Annabelle didn't look back right away. She was so innocent in her giving. She wasn't trying to please Mommy by doing it, it was totally her decision and choice.

I am so thankful to be Annabelle's mother and see the compassion of my child.

Tremendous Teachers

T is for Teachers
ABC Wednesday

Team Teachers
(Me, Lori, and Tina)

This comes at the PERFECT time. Today was our last day with the students and tomorrow is the teacher last day.

I am so very blessed to work with these two ladies. I cannot tell you what a HUGE encouragement they both were as I lost my job this year. What a joy to get another year to work with them. Both of these ladies work many hours to be the best teachers and I am privilege to come along side them.

Lori and I are a perfect team. Our personalities mesh so nicely. She loves the subjects that she teaches and wouldn't want to teach mine and I feel the same way! During the time when I had lost my job Lori was willing to sacrifice so much in order for me to keep my job. She is so generous. Her dedication to teaching is incredible; she does so much for her students and spends a lot of time planning and preparing. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met!

Tina, our Title 1 teacher, who comes in and teaches Math with me has been a huge source of comfort this year. After I had drawn #3 for the lottery for my job I went to Tina's room to cry! She is always there to listen and give advice. She reminds me so much of my mom in a lot of ways. She also has this amazing ability to come into my class and immediately engage those students that are starting to wander. Her creativity with teaching keeps me so sharp!

(two are missing)
We had a surprise Baby shower for one of our teachers
and Shannon and the youth group girls help me make this!
